Slovenian E-Invoicing: Where We Stand
B2G e-invoicing to Slovenian public bodies has been mandatory since 1 January 2015, sent via UJP (through its portal, banks, providers or PEPPOL) in e-SLOG or another EN 16931 syntax. For B2B, the Act on the Exchange of Electronic Invoices (ZIERDED, Official Gazette 85/2025) applies from 1 January 2028. Businesses established in Slovenia cannot use EncryptInvoice for their domestic invoicing. What we do is deliver your invoices to Slovenian customers over PEPPOL when you are established elsewhere.

Is e-invoicing mandatory in Slovenia?
For the public sector (B2G), yes: e-invoicing to Slovenian public bodies has been mandatory since 1 January 2015, via UJP (through its portal, banks, providers or PEPPOL) in e-SLOG or another EN 16931 syntax. For B2B, the Act on the Exchange of Electronic Invoices (ZIERDED, Official Gazette 85/2025) applies from 1 January 2028. EncryptInvoice serves businesses established outside Slovenia that invoice Slovenian customers. Please confirm your own obligations.
What is e-SLOG and how does EncryptInvoice relate to it?
e-SLOG is Slovenia's national e-invoice format, aligned with EN 16931. EncryptInvoice sends EN 16931 / PEPPOL BIS 3.0 e-invoices via a certified PEPPOL Access Point, which UJP accepts, for businesses established outside Slovenia. We don't produce native e-SLOG files.
How do VAT number checks work for Slovenian customers?
We run VAT format checks (SI followed by eight digits) and EU VIES pre-checks on your Slovenian customers' VAT numbers to flag issues before you send. Please confirm official records for accuracy.
Can I invoice clients in other EU countries?
